In the comments, there was talk about the Death by Cow list and his long IMDB entry, so I'm doing a recap of his works now, starting with a movie ABC...
... and (for me) this was a difficult one to watch. To quote wikipedia, Age of Heroes is "based on the real-life events of the formation of Ian Fleming's 30 Commando unit during World War II" and set in Norway.
We don't know how my grandfather died, but his death certificate is from a casualty clearing station in Norway.

When I got around to watching Age of Heroes, I was moving and had the cage with my guinea pigs next to the couch I was cuddled up on, and... that rat-a-tat-tat machine gun sound? Turns out the guineas were rather insulted by being shot at and shot back. Rat-a-tat-tat
