Further info: There has been some debate over whether or not it continuous 'true' readings work too. If you receive a true=error message, even when attached to a false, the vote does not count. If you receive a false with an additional =10 or =6 attached, the vote did not count. Let the browser finish loading and then close it, then reopen and vote again. It will work as long as you click the VOTE. You need to make sure you actually click on the VOTE button where it says VOTE. You don't have to wait for the page to finish loading BEFORE voting if the vote button is there...but make sure it =false before closing the page. :)
If you consistently get the true reading, try the "Losing Lady" test. Go to one of the other polls and look for the lady in last place. Keep an eye on her stats a bit and then vote for her. If her vote count goes up by as many as you voted, then your votes count. If not, try again. On every machine I've ever used to vote, I have always recieved the "&reciente=false" message and I know all my votes count. If you're having trouble, email me or respond here and we'll get it figured out somehow.
And I want to say thank you to everyone who's been voting their hearts out and their fingers off. I know we're tired, I know we're sore. I know I would love to get out of this chair for more than 30min at a time (the max I tend to allot myself for potty breaks and food runs). But we're doing so well and have hung in there this far. The poll is over on the 13th. I know we can make it til then.
Also, if you are broadband, I can show you how to maximize your votes. You can do this dial-up, but it's slower and more frustrating and if you're up for it, I'll show you too. I know I have a few dial-uppers voting their hearts out and I love them dearly. Write me at my journal addy or rauny (at) nc (dot) rr (dot) com.
