Bean Glad To Escape British Stereotype

British actor Sean Bean credits his move to Hollywood with saving him from being typecast.
The 47-year-old struggled to secure roles after completing his breakthrough run starring as soldier Richard Sharpe on British TV.
And he accuses UK audiences of being too keen to pigeonhole performers, rather than allowing their career to blossom in different directions.
He says, "When I first finished Sharpe, it was hard to get work because people only saw me as him.
"It was the same with Catherine Zeta-Jones after The Darling Buds Of May. In Britain, people can be so snobbish - they have favourites. I had to go to Hollywood to recharge my career."
