Free tickets to Legends game

Here's a chance to get your mitts on a free ticket to witness one of football’s fiercest rivalries rekindled in Reading.

England versus Germany: The Legends pitches some of the game’s greatest players and top celebs in what promises to be a classic showdown.

And the Evening Post has teamed up with the match organisers to offer £5,000 worth of tickets to our readers, absolutely free of charge.

Former England stars Paul Gascoigne, Chris Waddle, Lee Sharpe and Paul Merson join a glittering array of A-listers for the charity spectacular on Wednesday, May 3, at 8pm.

The Madejski Stadium pitch is also set to be graced by ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft, Henley MP Boris Johnson, along with rugby stars Matt Dawson and Lawrence Dallaglio.

Actor Sean Bean, boxing ace Nigel Benn and former cricketer Alec Stewart will be pulling on the footy boots for the fundraising night.

The Three Lions will be taking on a German side loaded with World Cup winning captain Lothar Matthaus, tennis star Boris Becker and musician Herbert Gronemeyer.

It’s sure to be the perfect prelude to the World Cup Finals in Germany a month later and will be broadcast live on Channel Five. England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will be busy finalising his squad, but partner Nancy Dell’Olio will be there for the Red Cross fundraiser.

She said: “It is set to be a fantastic event and the money raised will go towards the vital work of the Red Cross, responding to emergencies and caring for vulnerable people in crisis both in the UK and overseas.”

The game is also an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for cancer charity The Bobby Moore Fund.

It’s sure to be a memorable night and with tickets selling well, this is an opportunity you can’t afford to miss.

Just cut out the coupon printed below and take it along to the sales centre at Madejski Stadium by Thursday for your tickets – you can claim up to four tickets with a voucher. Or you can post it in enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.

If you can’t make it along to the store, then you can buy tickets for £12 (£6 concessions) or £10 (£5 concessions) for Reading FC season ticket holders and members.
